4 Ways to Make Z-oodles: The goal is to create long pasta-like strands.
Spiralizer: If you make these often, a handheld or stand spiralizer might be a good investment for your kitchen.
Vegetable or Julienne peeler: The vegetable peeler will create fettucine-like noodles and the julienne peeler will make thinner spaghetti-like noodles. Be sure to hold zucchini firmly and run the peeler down the entire length of the vegetable.
Mandoline: This will create various shapes based on the blade used.
Sharp knife: This is a good way to practice your knife skills! Cut long strands to the shape of your choice.
4 Ways to Prepare Z-oodles: Prevent overcooking so they don’t become mushy!
Sauté: Heat skillet to medium with olive oil or cooking spray and sauté the zucchini noodles for 3-5 minutes.
In broth or sauce: Heat up sauce or broth and toss in raw zucchini noodles. The noodles will soften as they sit in the heat of the sauce.
Boil: Bring a pot of water to boil, add in zucchini noodles, and cook for one minute. Drain well and serve.
Raw: Keep it simple and enjoy raw!
