Celebrating Comprehensive Healthcare Services and Driving Health Equity in Chicago

Chicago, IL – Near North Health (NNH), a long-standing provider of community-based primary health care in Chicago, joins the nation in marking National Health Center Week, taking place from August 6th to August 12th, 2023.

The National Association of Community Health Centers holds this annual event to increase awareness of the nation’s 1,400 Community Health Centers, which provide quality, comprehensive healthcare services to more than 30 million patients across 14,500 communities.

Health centers such as NNH play a vital role in driving health equity, breaking down barriers to care, and generating cost savings within the healthcare system. By focusing on underserved communities, they improve the health and well-being of vulnerable populations, addressing social determinants of health, and promoting equitable access to comprehensive care.

“Community Health Centers are pivotal in transforming lives and fostering health equity. Near North Health embodies these key benefits with unwavering dedication in providing patient care in Chicago,” said Dr. Tristé Lieteau Smith, CEO of Near North Health. “As innovators, healers, and problem solvers, we reach out to underserved communities, addressing social determinants of health and promoting well-being for all.”
